Can The Processors of a Compaq EVO D51U USDT be swapped with a HP D530 SFF(DS060A) ?? More Info inside...?
The Motherboards are both Socket 478 but I want to know if they are compatible and I can simply switch out the processors and they will both work.
The Compaq EVO has a Pentium 4 1.90 ghz
The HP D530 has a Pentium 4 2.60 ghz (2 CPUs)
I am assuming the D530 is a Dual Core since it says that at the end and there is only 1 CPU chip inside.
Can I switch both of them out and have both still work?

the short answer is yes...
the p4, 478 socket 1.9g is a 400 fsb...
the p4, 478 socket 2.6b is a 533 fsb...
the only problem that you might have is that the fsb is higher on the 2.6g chip...which is NOT a dual core...it is a single core chip. (look at spec's)

double check the max fsb on the mother board that you intend to use to make sure, but it really isn't much of a junp at all, and most boards of that era do easily...
but at the end of the day it's just pop and swap and your good to go.
