Will the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 work on my Dell Dimension 4700?
Will the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 work on my Dell Dimension 4700? I tried to install it in the PCI slot, and it won't fit. In the instructions it says it can fit into a PCI or AGP slot.
Then why does it say it can fit into a PCI slot?
The 6800gt will not fit in a pci slot, it's only made for agp or pci-express depending on which version you get. If you only have a pci slot then i suggest you try to get a refund and buy the 6200 (the best pci card you can get). Pci is an outdated platform, so you won't be able to play most games on a pci video card and video cards are no longer made for pci.
If you have a pci-express/agp slot, then you can either try putting the 6800gt into them or getting a new better card.
